The Scanner in Maternalabs, the PPL Launch Partners LLC app, summarizes what medicines agencies, health bodies, medical societies and scientific studies publish. Each medicine entry names and links its sources. This page brings together their licenses and the notices they ask for.
What applies to all of them
No source endorses us. Citing an agency, a public body or a medical society, or linking to its page, does not mean it has reviewed or endorses Maternalabs. The compatibility categories are ours, not the sources'.
They are our summaries, except where this page says otherwise. When the source is in another language, the translation is ours, not an official one.
They may not be the latest version. Sources are updated, and our entries may not reflect the latest change. For up-to-date information, open the source.
We don't use their logos.
LactMed
Courtesy of the U.S. National Library of Medicine.
The breastfeeding part of the entries that come from LactMed reproduces its summary: in English, as published; in Spanish and Portuguese, in our own translation, not an official one.
The app uses a copy of LactMed from a specific date, which it shows in those entries. That copy may therefore not reflect the most current or accurate data available from the National Library of Medicine: the current version is on LactMed.
FDA labels (U.S.)
Data from U.S. drug labels comes from openFDA and DailyMed. openFDA publishes it under the CC0 1.0 public domain dedication. Some English entries repeat phrases from the label.
CDC (U.S.)
Some entries summarize, without changing its meaning, information developed by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). That information is available free of charge at cdc.gov.
Our use of CDC information, including any links to its pages, does not imply endorsement of Maternalabs by the CDC, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) or the United States Government.
European Medicines Agency (EMA)
Some entries summarize documents from the European Medicines Agency. The EMA is the source of that material, and every entry that uses it names it.
AEMPS (Spain)
Some entries summarize product information published by the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices (AEMPS) in its medicines information center (CIMA). Each entry cites that origin and the date the document was last revised.
MHRA, gov.uk and nhs.uk (United Kingdom)
Some entries summarize the UK product information published by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), or pages from gov.uk and nhs.uk.
For what comes from gov.uk and nhs.uk: Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
Brazil: what each brand contains comes from the open medicines data of the Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (Anvisa), published under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license. We adapt it in the same way.
Published studies
Some entries summarize published studies, with their reference. We give the finding in our own words: abstracts and articles belong to their authors or publishers.
Other sources
Other medicines agencies, international bodies, medical societies and other medicine information sites: we summarize what they publish in our own words, without copying their text, and name and link them in each entry.
If you hold the rights to a source
If you think we use your information in a way that your license or your terms don't allow, write to us at developer@ppllaunchpartners.com and we'll look into it.
